Design Season 2020

Holland Alexander have been the Marketing & PR Partner for the annual Leicester Design Season since it first launched in 2018.

Design Season is a 3-week long programme of live events, exhibitions & talks that celebrate Leicester’s design community. Our role as Marketing & PR partner is to promote the programme and showcase the work of Leicester’s design community using digital platforms.

However, this year had to be a little different to the previous programmes. Due to the pandemic, no live events could take place and therefore, all presentations took place online.

We recognised that we had an important part to play in engaging the public to tune into the mostly online programme. How did we achieve this?

  1. Consistency

Consistent in posting and activity on social media platforms, to ensure we show up on the timeline.

  1. Quality

Visual is key. Posting high quality graphics & content to grab the eye of the audience.

  1. Experience

Design Season was created for Leicester’s design community by the design community. The key is to ensure the content we posted felt that it was owned by all and the community have contributed.
