Video Games Festival

Holland Alexander recently worked on the event production for the brand-new game’s festival and conference – Interactive Futures 2019.

Interactive Futures aimed to bring together the UK’s games community, games enthusiasts, the next generation of games designers, and creative powerhouses to discover developments, opportunities, new releases, collaborations, networking and to celebrate the future of game development. And that’s exactly what was achieved, with great success.

The event was made up of two key aspects – the conference and the Showcase.

Main Conference

Our team worked hard to create such an influential speaker programme for the iconic event. The conference took place on two stages, the main stage and the hub stage. Both stages saw a variety of talks related to the games sector over the weekend from industry experts. Guests had the opportunity to learn of various job roles in the industry and much more. The standard of talks and panel sessions was exceptional and well-attended, with some speaker sessions experiencing standing room only.

Showcase

The Showcase was what we named the buzzing exhibition area. With 20 exhibitors over the weekend, the room was surely filled with exciting games for guests to participate in.

Our team of experts reached out to games companies to make history and be a part of the inaugural Interactive Futures. We had the pleasure of working with the Associate Partners of the event – Playground Games, SEGA HARDlight, SUMO Digital, Codemasters and Ubisoft Leamington.

Everything from the exhibitor stands, visuals, to the music were all electric. Guests especially enjoyed RiVR’s stand (Reality in Virtual Reality Limited), a developer of Virtual Reality assets in both 360 video and photorealistic virtual reality experiences.

We understood that the aim of this event was to bring the games community together, and we achieved this through careful set-design planning of the Showcase, bringing the stands closer together so that exhibitors did not have to venture too far from their stand to be able to network and connect with other companies.

Feedback

One reason we love producing these iconic events is getting to work with people who are passionate about what they do, and hearing that our team had such a positive effect on their experience.

“I had a fantastic time at IF and heard really excellent feedback over the two days I was there. In addition, your team were brilliant, and lovely to work with. In particular, their military level organisation was much appreciated.”- Elle Osili-Wood, Television Presenter.

“It was a brilliant weekend – thank you! Congratulations on organising it, I heard so much good feedback on the day, it seemed to be a huge success! Thanks again for the invitation to speak – I’d love to help out next year. It was a great event!” – Alysia Judge, Games Journalist.

We are really proud to have produced Interactive Futures 2019. We thrive on the detail that goes into planning such an iconic event. We are always pushing the boundaries of how we can create a bespoke and perfect atmosphere for everyone involved. See for yourself in this video that RiVR created at Day 2 of Interactive Futures in the Showcase.
