University of Leicester, Holland Alexander Snoop Dog Initiative. A students perspective

I attended the event looking to develop some skills and potentially gain some work experience but what I actually gained was a lot more!  Louise gave us a really compelling insight into how she has succeeded in business to get her company to where it is today. The information was very relevant and would have been useful to anyone in any discipline. Some of the exercises that I particularly enjoyed really made me think about my goals and aims of the future.

For the main focus of the event we were given an exercise to do in pairs. From a set of problem scenarios (that the Holland Alexander team had actually faced before!) we were required in our pairs to comprise a plan of action. There was an atmosphere of competition as we were told whoever showed initiative may be invited back. Everyone showed great problem solving skills and came up with some strong ideas.                                                       

The event was a great insight into Holland Alexander and it was great meeting like-minded peers and networking with business professionals. Louise has invited me back for paid work experience and I am very much looking forward to working with the Holland Alexander team again!
