Case Study: Leicester Mercury Sports Awards 2010
The brief:To produce the annual Leicester Mercury Sports Awards. To coordinate all aspects of event production, RSVP management, technical delivery and collateral fabrication, whilst continuing to develop and improve this 13 year old event, whilst maintaining its powerful position in Leicestershire Sports heritage. The awards celebrates the end of the previous sport year by recognising up and coming sporting talent, alongside some more famous UK Sporting celebrities that have originated from Leicester. The finalists are chosen from individuals nominated in the Leicester Mercury Sports Awards finalist's campaign. Invitations are extended to award finalists, alongside VIPs.

Solution: The Leicester Mercury Sports Awards 2010 took place at Leicester City Football Club on Thursday 20th January 2011. This year the Master of Ceremonies was Leicester Legend Steve Walsh, former Leicester City Football Club player; high profile awards presenters were invited including Rory Underwood MBE and Alan Birchenhall. Holland Alexander managed all areas of the event from RSVP management, programme design, production of event collateral, onsite event management to the technical specification. Where possible the Holland Alexander team creatively improved upon the former year's event, with a new improved stage specification, new trophy design and modern and dynamic centre pieces, to name a few.
We provided the following pre event planning services: Creation of the event management plan & project plan.
Support liaison with the venue team & plan according use of venue including catering
Project management & regular update report & face to face meetings as required
Issuing of all finalist and guest invitations
Recording of all delegate responses for attendance
Coordination of event screen presentations including dinner loop and awards presentation
Production and distribution of guest information to confirmed guests two weeks prior to the event
Production of redesigned award trophies in liaison with external agency
Production of event programme, including liaison with award sponsors
Production of guest accreditation badges and table places
We provided the following on site event management: Manage the pre event rig and set up
Set up any client or third party branding items within the venue, including exhibition units
Recording of guest attendances and distribution of name badges
Pre awards briefing of awards presenters
Stage management hosts during awards ceremony
Provide front of house event management team to support guest requests or requirements
Provide five holland alexander event team
Post event meet with the client for debrief and delegate evaluation findings.
